# How do I open and manage a Dispute?

Open a Dispute when an order problem can't be solved in the order chat.

Open a **Dispute** when a P2P order problem cannot be resolved with the counterparty through the order chat.

## Before opening a Dispute

1. Keep the order open.
2. Check the payment or crypto-release status.
3. Explain the problem to the counterparty in the order chat.
4. Prepare clear evidence relevant to the order.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Evidence may include** a payment receipt, payment-account transaction record, or screen recording showing the amount, recipient, time, and payment status.
{% endhint %}

## What happens next?

The Dispute page shows the review progress. HashLiquid Customer Support may review the order details, order chat, and evidence provided by both parties.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Review hours:** Hash Support reviews Disputes from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (UTC+8). This is the support review window and does not guarantee that a Dispute will be resolved within the same day.
{% endhint %}

If HashLiquid requests more information, return to the Dispute and submit it before the deadline shown on the page.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Crypto related to the order remains frozen until the Dispute is resolved.
{% endhint %}

## Cancel a Dispute

Cancel a Dispute only if the payment or crypto-release issue has been fully resolved. Open the Dispute and select **Cancel Dispute** if that action is available.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Upload only evidence relevant to the order. Never provide a password, verification code, private key, or recovery phrase.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.hashliquid.com/troubleshooting-and-support/disputes.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
