# What should I do if there is a payment or crypto-release problem?

What to do when a payment or crypto release doesn't go as expected.

If a P2P order does not proceed as expected, keep the order open and contact the counterparty through the order chat. Do not move the conversation outside HashLiquid.

## I paid, but the seller hasn't released the crypto

1. Confirm that the payment was completed successfully and was sent to the account shown in the order.
2. Upload valid payment proof if requested.
3. Contact the seller through the order chat.
4. If the issue is not resolved and **Dispute** is available, [raise a Dispute](/troubleshooting-and-support/disputes.md) from the order page.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Do not cancel an order after you have paid unless the funds have been returned to your payment account.
{% endhint %}

## The buyer marked the order as paid, but I haven't received payment

Check the receiving account directly. Do not rely only on a screenshot, text message, or payment notification supplied by the buyer.

If the full payment has not arrived:

1. Do not release the crypto.
2. Ask the buyer to verify the payment through the order chat.
3. [Raise a Dispute](/troubleshooting-and-support/disputes.md) when the option becomes available if the issue remains unresolved.

## I released the crypto but haven't received payment

Check the receiving account and payment details again, then [raise a Dispute](/troubleshooting-and-support/disputes.md) immediately. Provide the relevant account transaction record and order information.

## I paid the wrong account or entered the wrong amount

Contact the counterparty in the order chat as soon as possible. Do not send another payment unless both parties have confirmed how the first payment will be handled. [Raise a Dispute](/troubleshooting-and-support/disputes.md) if you cannot resolve the issue.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Never release crypto because the counterparty is pressuring you. Release it only after confirming that the full payment has reached your own account.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.hashliquid.com/troubleshooting-and-support/payment-release-problems.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
